We will be back! This was our first time to Aruba (after several trips to St. Croix, St. Maarten, and Bonaire) and we chose this place primarily due to its proximity to great shore diving/snorkeling sites on the island and its value. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the unit looked much nicer than expected and beach was even closer to water than expected, literally across the street. Having the hosts provide wine and cheese and some island tips while enjoying the first night's sunset over the ocean together was very nice. They had kayaks we used and the snorkeling really was excellent; we saw turtles, eels, great reef, and lots of Caribbean fish. The website lists that a/c is only in the bedroom, which we were fine with for the most part and is pretty typical in the caribbean we've found, but just thought I'd mention it again if you're one who likes to be super cool all the time. And S.E.Aruba scuba diving picked us up from there for our 4 day
dive package and walking to the bus to the airport and town was no problem either. Overall, like I said we'll be back next year. Thanks so much to the great hosts!

Which would you prefer.
After a great vacation in Aruba at Karin and Chito's hideaway (+28 degrees C) we returned home to Canada to find this snow and -28 degrees C.
Thanks for the great vacation. We found that your location allowed us to feel like we were part of Aruba rather than just being at another resort beach that could be anywhere. The local restaurants, B55 and Marina Pirata, were fabulous.
All the best Rick and Claire.

Thanks

On our first visit to Aruba we stayed at Karin and Luis' apartment. We
loved the location and our accommodation. The apartment is so close to
the shore and sunsets are spectacular. We were well cared for by our hosts and Luis and Karen remain friends to this day. We love the area
so much we bought our home just down Spaanlagoen Weg!

We fell in love with our apartment at first sight....spacious, clean, tiled, tasteful, with its own private patio as well as a Big Blue Door, the front door, giving on to the shared courtyard where we often ate our supper by lantern light in the warm, tropical dark....AND we fell for our hosts, too; warm, friendly, worldly, funny people who treated us like personal guests....you just can't imagine anything more wonderfully different from the impersonal, plastic, big resort hotel ambience. We loved the Sunset Sits around the red lantern, talking with our hosts and their friends from the neighborhood (a number of whom are former guests who came back on a more permanent basis!), looking out across the lagoon and watching the gorgeous colors slowly melt into darkness. The location is wonderful, too....it's a short, easy drive from Baby Beach at one end to the California Lighthouse at the other, and all points in between. The local food was yummy -- Karin and Luis let us follow them to the local "snack truck" the first night so we could all get a bite to eat, and we went back often....the chicken dishes were scrumptious, and the prices excellent. All in all, exactly what one hopes for -- a wonderful place to stay and new friends to boot!

Our family visited 'One Happy Island' and had such an amazing, wonderful time. We so seldom get together with our grown daughters and wanted a very relaxing, beautiful, peaceful week and it was that and so much more. Our hosts made us feel like part of the family immediately and were so gracious with all the creature comforts of home, making us feel so welcome and relaxed in their company. We were able to walk across the street from our Cabana to enjoy the sunset each day. The beach is very close and although we enjoyed various beaches throughout the week, our favorite was the hidden treasure a very short distance away. And ohhh.. the living reef! spectacular.. we will be back! The LaFortune Family (Wisconsin, USA)
